Framing -
We think that our shot is framed well. Our actor is in the centre of the frame and the backdrop is fairly accurate against the original. Our shot could be improved by having the actor further away so that he is smaller in the frame and his knees are at the bottom. The professional shit is successful because it has a good use of contrast with the shadows and the outfit is clearly shown with a contrast between the shirt and skirt.
Lighting -
Our lighting works fairly well, however it is slightly brighter than the original. We relied on ambient lighting which may have been too harsh with the halogen lights. The original appears to have relied on ambient lighting of the sun fairly late in the day through a window. The professional shot may have used their lighting in order to make the subject stand out by making the background darker.
Mise en scene -
Our costume is fairly close to the original with the skirt and check shirt. The shirt could could be navy rather than purple and the background is accurate regarding the simplicity without it being plain white.
Camera -
We used a handheld camera as from the original we could see that they also used a handheld camera as there was slight movement. We feel that we have matched the movements of the original shot well and didn't find this too difficult.
Actors -
Our actor worked very well in front of the camera. He knew what he had to do and the movements were well rehearsed. When directing shoots we need to know exactly what we want from our actors so that they do the correct movement.
