Minecraft Essay

Minecraft was first created in 2011 by Mojang Studios. It is a sandbox game, meaning the player is free to do whatever they desire. This allows players to use the game however they want. With the lack of objectives in the game, players are forced to use their creativity to play the game and this is partly the reason why Minecraft became so popular.
Mojang relied on user feedback through community forums to help improve their game for future updates. Originally, there was no advertising for the game, people only found out through word of mouth. Minecraft would slowly gain a small fan base.
The rise of Youtube helped Minecraft soar in popularity, because of the user generated content uploaded to the site. This allowed for players to show off their creativity and how they played the game. This lead to game series, called let's plays, which

Story-boarding: Introduction: The introduction to my music video will be set on the beach in the evening. The first shot is a birds eye view of the sea crashing on to the beach with words like the artists and the song title. It will turn in to a series of shots of exoctic places and activities in different locations , to go with the 'live in the moment' type story. During the song, there are parts where the voice is the main focus. This is where I plan to have extreme close ups of lips miming the lyrics of the song. This will not only show a variation in shot selection, but will also make a connection between the video and the song. The storyboard sketches are just some ideas that I have in mind, but might not make it to the video. All the shots in the photo are inspired by other dance music videos that have a similar atmosphere that I want to partially replicate.

The Big Issue - Front Cover Analysis

This cover of The Big Issue has an orange theme to promote the new film T2 Trainspotting, even the logo has changed which they usually keep black and white. Also, their masthead is very different to other magazines as it does not spread across the whole cover and so they have the option to move it around. In this case, they placed the masthead in the top left corner so that it does not affect the image. For this cover they also used a pull quote as the main cover line with a bright orange background which will attracts the audience's eyes to it first. The next thing that pops out to the audience is the black and white picture of the four main characters of the film. They have used this effect to represent them as being old-school, as the first Trainspotting released in 1996. The magazine features the usual release date, price and magazine sell line. These appear on every Big Issue magazine, however it does not need a bar-code as it not sold in shops where it need to be sc...

Evaluate My Initial Footage

Framing -  We think that our shot is framed well. Our actor is in the centre of the frame and the backdrop is fairly accurate against the original. Our shot could be improved by having the actor further away so that he is smaller in the frame and his knees are at the bottom. The professional shit is successful because it has a good use of contrast with the shadows and the outfit is clearly shown with a contrast between the shirt and skirt. Lighting -  Our lighting works fairly well, however it is slightly brighter than the original. We relied on ambient lighting which may have been too harsh with the halogen lights. The original appears to have relied on ambient lighting of the sun fairly late in the day through a window. The professional shot may have used their lighting in order to make the subject stand out by making the background darker. Mise en scene -  Our costume is fairly close to the original with the skirt and check shirt. The shirt ...
